cameras and city natives

Weather was amazing, so i took my nephew out to show him how to use cameras. Mostly with the dslr, a little on my yashica fx3 super.

Explained how both light meters work, how the only difference between cameras is the way it functions, and picture quality is 100% the lense. Got him qdoba.

Im showing work at the city natives gallery

In fountain square. Another goal checked off. My list. To have a solo show in the murphy building. I showed work at the murphy last november 2023. They asked me to show that night. For October 2024. I said yes immediately. 

Years ago when the indianapolis museum of contemporary art was the entire first floor, i wanted to have a solo show there. It felt impossible.  imoca closed. The building changed owners and was in a suspended state. But it was up and running changing. So now... there is city natives. I dont know much about them theyve been incredibly responsive and polite. So far so good. Ive set my next goal. As lofty as the past goals have seemed. But i feel i i can do it.

Here is to a miserable persistence and self doubt (brain). And telling it shut the fuck up and follow you gut and heart and passion and well being anyway.

The movie metropolis has a line in it about how the heart is the mediator between the brain and the hands.
